Developing the next neutrino mass experiment: Project 8 Phase III
Talk by J. Stachurska
For Phases I and II of Project 8 we use a superconducting solenoid magnet that had a former life as an NMR magnet at the University of California, Santa Barbara. It provides the uniform 1 T background field that causes the 18 keV trapped electrons to emit cyclotron radiation around 26 GHz.
